Introduction to the physical properties of nitrogen
Dec 07, 2022
Nitrogen is a gas that we are more exposed to, and it is widely used in industry. It should be relatively stable and play a role in many aspects. So, what are the characteristics of Weifang nitrogen in physical properties?
Nitrogen is normally a colorless, odorless, odorless gas and is generally non-toxic. Nitrogen accounts for 78.12% (volume fraction) of the total atmosphere, and its gas density under standard conditions is 1.25g·dm-3. When nitrogen is cooled to -195.8°C under standard atmospheric pressure, it becomes a colorless liquid. At -209.86°C, liquid nitrogen turns into a snow-like solid.
The solubility of nitrogen in water is very small. At normal temperature and pressure, only about 0.02 volume of nitrogen is dissolved in 1 volume of water. It is a gas that is difficult to liquefy. The solubility in water is very small. At 283K, one volume of water can dissolve about 0.02 volume of N2. Nitrogen will be liquefied into a white liquid at extremely high temperature, and will form a white crystalline solid when the temperature is further lowered. In manufacturing, gray cylinders are commonly used to hold nitrogen.
